A native of Richmond, VA
Lady Janice Wilford was the third born child of Mr. Alexander and Mrs. Janie P.
Evans. On February 27th 1970 she married Mr. Ernest Lee Wilford Sr. of
North Carolina
and from this union they were blessed with seven children. In Addition, they
legally parented two of their seven grandchildren from the ages of one and two.
Lady
Wilford was baptized in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at The
Ebenezer COOL JC in the summer of 1974
and received the gift of the Holy Ghost (born into the kingdom of God) on the
following Friday night during a two week revival service. Taking the right hand
fellowship, as a born again believer, she joined the Ebenezer Church
and Bishop Ben Lewis became her pastor.
Lady
Wilford answered the service call from the Lord (…. Go ye also into the
vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you…. St. Matthew 20-4) and
faithfully served the Ebenezer Church and the Southern Diocese of Virginia in many capacities. At her local
church Lady Wilford was appointed President of the following auxiliaries, the
Ministers and Deacon Wives’ Guild and the Women’s Council department by her
pastor Bishop Ben Lewis. On the state level, Lady Wilford was appointed by our
state overseer, Bishop Wesley M. Taylor, the Virginia
Southern Diocese State
Women’s Council President and is currently the Virginia Southern Diocese Missionary Vice-President.
In Addition, Lady Wilford has held Chaplain, Recording and Corresponding Secretarial
positions on both the state and local level.
At this present time,
Lady Wilford is working diligently along side her companion and pastor Elder
Ernest L. Wilford Sr. as the president of the Ebenezer Church Missionary
department. In the pursuit of a higher calling and a purpose driven
relationship with the Lord, Lady Wilford retired from her job to become a full
time laborer for the Lord. It is her earnest desire to hear the voice of the
Lord say…. “Well done thy good and
faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee
ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of the Lord”.
